| Top Gear of the Pops is a one-off musical special of the motoring show featuring Travis, Supergrass, McFly (given the task of writing a song in ten minutes) and finally Justin Hawkins - supported by Clarkson on drums, Hammond on bass and May on the keys. It was shown as part of the Comic Relief 16 March 2007 appeal, mixing elements of Top Gear with Top of the Pops, the British music chart show cancelled in 2006, and the news segment features the hosts arguing about the state of the modern music scene.
