| The documentary for the third season "Babylon Berlin" +++ Autumn 1929: Just recently the Weimar Republic celebrated its tenth anniversary, when shadows are cast over Berlin. There are noisy scenes in the Reichstag, triggered by right-wing nationalists who have not gotten over the defeat of the World War and its consequences. Their leader: Alfred Hugenberg, who is among other things the head of Universum-Film-AG (UFA) and the most powerful publisher in the republic, who has bought an empire with the money from the heavy and armaments industries. His main enemy: Foreign Minister Gustav Stresemann, who persistently struggles with the victorious powers to find compromises in the "Young Plan" - for a peaceful future for Germany in a united Europe. | |
