| Annie grew up believing that her Irish traveller mother tried to kill her as a baby by setting fire to the caravan in which she was sleeping, leaving her with severe facial scarring. Could Annie's mother have been driven by a fear of being ostracized by the community because she had an affair and gave birth to a mixed race baby? Thirty years later, having been adopted, the now confident and successful Annie wants to investigate her past.
